We identify Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound member families who are unable to afford a computer at home.
By now, you have hopefully learned about our advanced NowTech programs, such as A+ — where member students learn to build and repair computers. When computers are donated to us, we immediately strip them down, disassembling them into their basic components.
These components are then sorted and inventoried, then placed into parts bins.
As our A+ students learn to build a computer, they are using those components previously donated as whole computers. The ‘new’ computers are built in the lab. When it is finished the member family is presented with that computer.
Though not a requirement, it is our hope that a member of the receiving family is participating in basic
A+ and builds the computer for themselves. The donated computers come from local Business and Government, we are accepting Pentium II, 500 MHz and above only, please.
Know of a member family than can use a good used computer? Have them apply here. Remember, they must be a member family (an immediate family member must be an active member of Boys & Girls Clubs.
Our most recent Build & Take participants: Five girls - one 12 year-old, two 11 year-olds and two 10 year-olds.
